Benjamin Alvin Glover

February 25, 1939 ~ November 14, 2017

A strong, amazing man, Benjamin Alvin Glover passed peacefully in his home the morning of November 14, 2017. He was born February 25, 1939 to Charles and Arawana Glover in Yreka, CA.

He married Yvonne Johnston in June 1957, and together they were devoted and loving parents to their three sons, Michael, Randy, and Bryan. Even after divorcing they remained very good friends, always working together. He married his soul mate Linda, adding Charles and Travis Lyons to his family.

As a young man, he served as a volunteer fireman for Roy City and began his career with the Roy City Police Department, retiring as detective after serving 23 years. After 30 years of delivering new trucks throughout the United States for Dallas and Mavis trucking company, he retired to life on the ranch.

Ben enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting, later putting his guns away for a camera. He loved to tinker in his barn and would work on anything broken until he either fixed it or until he would say “it was broken beyond repair.” He was genuinely a jack of all trades.

Family has always been important to Ben, including the love he always had for his two little Shih Tzu’s Suki and Mitzy and their predecessors Toto and Tuffy.

Ben  is survived by his devoted wife,  Linda; son, Mike (Anita) and their children, Jake (Desiree) and Matt (Jayme) Glover; son, Randy; and daughter (Brittney), and DaRece Glover, children, Brad (Melissa) Glover and DaNiel (Kody) Jacobsen; 7 more grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren; stepsons, Charles and Travis (Tanya) Lyons; and brothers, Larry (Susie), Loren and Chuck (Brenda) Glover.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Bryan; brothers, Eddie Green and Eugene Glover; one sister, June LeFevre; and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James the Just Catholic Church, 495 North Harrison Blvd., Ogden. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
