Bernard James Henry Fenn

May 16, 1942 ~ October 7, 2018

Our beloved father, brother, and friend Bernard “Bernie” James Henry Fenn passed away on October 7, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bernie was born on May 16, 1942 in Nyssa, Oregon to Louis and Adeline Fenn. Bernie graduated from Roseburg High School in 1960. He furthered his education at Weber State University to become a teacher, but realized his passion was for baking. Bernie would go on to own a bakery with his older brother Don in Oregon called the Rolling Pin. After leaving Oregon to come to Utah he would continue baking at Wangsgards and Stop and Shop until he retired.

In 1963 Bernie would serve an LDS Mission in all parts of Texas except El Paso. Bernie would remain a faithful member of the Church throughout his life as he strived to serve others.

Bernie married his sweetheart Carol on July 23, 1971. A year later they were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple. They went onto have three children, Cindy (Sean), Becky, and Adam, and four grandchildren. Bernie also recently reconnected with his first child, Anthony Daines, and four more grandchildren which gave him great joy during the last few weeks of his life.

Bernie’s hobbies were playing horseshoes with his son Adam, basketball with his grandson Jarom, reading church books, and watching the history channel. He was also an avid Utah Jazz fan.

He loved cooking for his family and spending quality time with them – especially his grandchildren.

Bernie is survived by his four children; eight grandchildren; his older brother, Don (Billie); younger brothers, Les (Joanne), Leo (Bernis), and Bruce; as well as his half-siblings, Beverly and Warren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; older brother, Clarence; and older sisters, Viola and Mona.

Bernard is now reunited with the love of his life, Carol, in heaven where a great reunion is taking place with many family members.
