Bernice Elizabeth Bryson

Bernice Elizabeth Bryson, 88, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at her home in Layton, Utah.

She was born January 24, 1923 in Maiden, North Carolina the daughter of James Edgar and Nina Ramsaur.

Bernice married Montgomery Bryson in Midland, North Carolina. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1965. Bernice had a life-partner, Thomas R. Mack for 28 years before he preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and raised her children in Newark, New Jersey. She moved to Utah in 1994 where she shared a home with her son, James and grandson Thomas Bryson. She worked for the VA as a dietician for approximately two years until failing health.

Bernice loved watching her grandchildren play sports, taking long rides with her daughter-in-law Leslie and sitting on the back deck enjoying the sun.

She was known by all of her family and friends as "Grandma" and will be truly missed.

Surviving are her three sons, seven daughter, 38 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, life partner, one son, one daughter and two grandsons.
