Bernice V. Martinez

SUNSET – Bernice V. Martinez, 94, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was a resident of Clearfield, Sunset the majority of her life.

She was born June 11, 1920 in Ensenda, New Mexico the daughter of Celestino and Cleofas Valerio Velasquez.

Bernice married Maximo A. Martinez.

She was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Bernice loved spending time with family members, planting flowers, gardening, traveling and camping.

Surviving are her son Harold R. Martinez, brother Chris Velasquez, 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren and 27 Godchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband Max Martinez, son Max A. Martinez, daughter Jenny Salazar, grandson Jason Martinez, great-great-granddaughter, Mysteree Martinez, great-grandson Issiah Chavez, parents and numerous brothers and sisters.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel Street, Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State Street.  A Vigil with Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
