Bernice "Cubby" Nielsen

OGDEN - Bernice Baldwin Nielsen, 88, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008 due to heart failure.

She was born March 2, 1920 to George and Maggie Baldwin in Cannonville, Utah.

Bernice married Jay R. Nielsen, and they were married for more than 50 years. Jay preceded her in 1996. She enjoyed crafts and making over 1000 quilts for the Lioness Program. She loved her family and they spent many years at Pine View Reservoir, and was a member of the Eagles. Bernice and Jay spent their winter months in Las Vegas as snow birds.

Bernice is survived by three children, Raymond Anderson, Klamath Falls, OR; Eileen Makamson, Ogden; Scott Nielsen, SLC,UT; and one sister, Elaine Miranda, Roy; and a daughter-in-law, Alda Mae Anderson, Oak Harbor, WA.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Matt Anderson, Ryan Makamson, Jay Nielsen, Riley Nielsen, and six great-grandchildren, Ryan and Violet Makamson, Michael Anderson, Olivia, Sara and Laura Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Daniel Anderson and Paul Nielsen.

Private family services will be held at the Valley View Cemetery in West Valley City.
