Bert James Lund

Bert James Lund passed away on February 26, 2017 just 7 days after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Bert was born on September 4, 1955 in Ogden Utah, to Brian Winfield Lund and Sharlene Thompson Lund.

Bert graduated from Ogden High and served in the New York Rochester Mission. He played the wicked King Noah in the Hill Cumorah Pageant and he never forgot those lines. Bert was a High Priest in the Kays Creek Ward and always had a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ.

After his mission he met Julie Kay Christensen on a blind date arranged by his sister Tami. Bert and Julie were married the next year in the Ogden temple. They were blessed with four wonderful children, Christopher, Alison, Benjamin and Madison.

In his teenage years Bert raced motorcycles. This led to a back injury, multiple surgeries and a life of back problems and pain.

Bert was in the Lighting business for 25 years, selling lighting and wiring homes. He was able to fix or build anything. Later he became a "gaffer" and used his lighting and electrical experience in the movie industry. When that became too physically strenuous he decided to start his own trucking business. He flew to LA and drove back a "honey wagon." That was the beginning of "Motion Picture Services," which grew to a fleet of 10 trucks, trailers and other transportation equipment. He worked on many movies, commercials and TV shows, alongside his two sons. They enjoyed many hours working, driving and laughing together.

Bert's favorite times were spent with his family in Disneyland, Hawaii, Lake Powell, Bear Lake, or just hanging out at home. He was always a hard worker until his back got the best of him. Through it all he never lost his sense of humor, his quick wit, or his love of nice cars.

He was preceded in death by his son Ben, his sister Tami and his parents. He is survived by his wife Julie, his children and grandchildren, Chris and Mayleen Lund (Lauren, Drake and Zachary Benjamin), Alison and Craig Behunin (Riley, McCall, Emmy and Brynn), Madison and Joseph Barry (Hudson and Kollins), his brother John (Julie #1) Lund and sister Lisa Lund.

Bert never got over the heartache of losing Ben in 2008. It gives us much comfort knowing they are together again, and that now he is finally pain free. We will forever miss the founder and President of "The Bert Lund Club."  We love you and are humbled how you endured to the end.
