Bert R. Nyberg
WASHINGTON TERRACE – Bert Reinhold Nyberg, 77, died Friday, July 31, 2009 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden.
He was born January 10, 1932 in Orebro, Sweden, the son of Kalle and Karin Nyberg.
On March 4, 1957, Bert married Suni Nee Pfeiffer in Bernhausen, (near Stuttgart) Germany.
He was born, baptized and confirmed a member of the Lutheran Church.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Bert was a self-made man in all aspects of his life. He was an airline pilot for many years with Transamerica Airlines.
He enjoyed hiking, skiing and sail boating. Bert loved whitewater rafting on the Green River. He spent many fabulous camping outings in the beautiful State of Utah including Zion National Park where he climbed Angels Landing twice. Bert thought Zion’s was perfectly named.
Surviving are his wife, Suni, of Washington Terrace; and two brothers, Anders and Sven Olof Forsberg.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Spencer Smith of the Washington Terrace 9th Ward, officiating.
Family will greet friends at the mortuary on Friday from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m.
Cremation under the direction of Lindquist’s Crematory.
