Bertha Marie VanScoyk Felter

Bertha Marie VanScoyk Felter (74), our sweet and beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt slipped away peacefully on Friday, September 18th at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield, UT, where she resided.

She was born November 28th, 1940 in Fairview, Wyoming to Eddie Davis and Dale Marie Bagley VanScoyk.  She loved Star Valley; it was there that she met her soul-mate and future husband, Allen Lee Felter.  They were married on December 29th, 1959 and were blessed with three children, MaryLee, Randy and Paul Felter.  They remained together until Allen's death in 2009.  They resided in several areas including Star Valley, Wyoming, Bear River, Vernal, and Kearns, Utah, before settling in the Fruit Heights area.

Prior to her stroke 7 years ago, she was a massage therapist. She was always interested in ways to heal the body and soul, both conventional and unconventional, She enjoyed the work, but her favorite job was that of wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved music, coloring, and creating beautiful poem books for the people she loved, but her favorite thing in the world was being with family.

She is survived by brother, Robert (Mary) VanScoyk, and sister-in-laws, Marilyn (Arvol Dale) Smith, and Norma VanScoyk.  Her children, MaryLee Felter and Randall (Linda) Felter.  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, in addition to aunts, uncles, and cousins, who all loved her very much.
