Bertha June Loyd Goss

June Goss, age 88, passed away peacefully of natural causes on September 19, 2024, in South Ogden, UT. Born on April 6, 1936, in New Victory, Tennessee, June was blessed to have many roles as a wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

June married Arthur E. Goss in September 1955, and the couple later moved to Ogden, Utah, with their two daughters, where they formed lifelong friendships and were members of the Washington Heights Baptist Church. 

June was dedicated to learning and fulfilled her goal of graduating college. She worked as an accountant for Coca-Cola and Farr Better Ice Cream where she made many fond memories like taking her grandkids into the factory to learn how their favorite flavors were made. She enjoyed cooking southern food that reminded her of her youth, shopping with her daughters, girlfriends, and granddaughters; and spending the holidays surrounded by her family. 

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sharon Howell and Tamera (Billie) Ward; one sister, Geraldine Treadway of TN; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a loving extended family in Utah and Tennessee. June was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Goss; son-in-law, Gary Howell; her parents, Arch and Sarah Loyd of Jonesborough, Tennessee; and several beloved brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hidden Valley Assisted Living and Memory Care Center and the nurses of Symbii Hospice for their love and caring support. She was strong and sassy up until the end and will be missed deeply by many. 

Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd.
