Beth Louise Bement

Beth Louise Bement, 94, passed away May 24, 2011 in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah May 3, 1917 to Lester R. McRae and Rhea Littlewood. She was the first of five children born to that union and spent her growing up years in the Salt Lake City area.

She married Harlon Webb Bement April 9, 1937. They were sealed in the Bountiful Temple July 5, 1997 by Hatch Howard.

Beth and Harlon enjoyed 73 years of marriage before his passing in September 2010. The family has fond memories of boating trips especially to Lake Powell visiting dad''s arch, Bement Arch, in Davis Gulch Canyon.

Beth worked for Bish''s Sheet Metal as a receptionist for many years. She enjoyed crafts and was talented and well known for her figurine painting, crocheting and knitting. She made many afghans and hot pads for family and friends. She also knitted hats and donated them to humanitarian organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlon and four younger siblings, Robert McRae, Elaine Stewart, Dale McRae, and Carol Williamson. She is survived by four sons, Kenneth (Judy), Twin Falls, ID; Ronald (Kathy), Salt Lake City, UT; Robert (Ann), Woods Cross, UT; and David (Lynne), Bend, OR. Beth and Harlon had 14 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express appreciation to the Inspiration Hospice Group for their help and guidance in mom''s final days. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 31st, from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at the East Millcreek Seventh Ward Chapel, 3408 South Celeste Way (3100 East) Salt Lake City, Utah. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park in Bountiful, Utah under the direction of Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary.
