Beth Powell Manning
Beth Powell Manning died Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Davis Hospital of pneumonia. Beth was born May 18, 1927 in Mount Emmons, Utah to Arthur Enos Powell and Edna Powell. She was raised in the Uintah Basin, moving with her family to Davis County in the 1940''s. Beth met her husband Glenn while they were working at the Naval Supply Depot. They were married November 7, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple and worked together all their married life in the fruit orchard.
Beth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings including Relief Society president. She always wanted to attend church during her life, and continued doing so even as she lived at Apple Village Assisted Living. Beth was a hard worker and played an integral part in the success of Manning Orchards. Even in her later years when dealing with dementia, she continued meeting with customers, and wanted to be a part of the sorting and selling of the peaches. Beth served others all her life by making meals, quilts, and assisting in many ways.
Beth and Glenn had five children, Kyle (Ruth), Scott (Debbie), Charles, Susan Buck, and Don (Shelly). They survive her along with ten grandchildren and two great-grand children. She is also survived by one brother, Garth Powell and three sisters, Arta Ross, Doris Morley, and Linda Thomson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Fruit Heights Stake Center, 170 North Mountain Road. Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main, and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
