Alice Bette Clark Titensor Barnes, age 88, our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and special friend passed away peacefully on October 14, 2016 surrounded by her loving daughters.
Mom was born on May 5, 1928 to Arthello and Nellie Clark in Ogden, Utah. She grew up in South Ogden and attended Weber County Schools. She worked for several electronic companies and retired from Hill Air Force Base. Mom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held several callings.
Mom married Richard D. Titensor on May 29, 1945. Together they had six daughters. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1967. Mom married Jack S. Barnes on April 18, 1969. Together they traveled and enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2006.
Mom had many talents and hobbies. The most prevalent of which she was an excellent seamstress. She was always willing to share this talent with others. Mom had a kind, generous heart, a great sense of humor, and her love for her family and her dog, TJ, was unconditional. She loved to go eat with her “Lunch Bunch” friends. Traveling with family and friends, especially cruising to the Caribbean and Alaska was something that mom loved to share and created many special memories.
Mom’s daughters and their spouses are Susan Willden, Janice (Bert) Casper, Debra (Kenny) Hall, DeAnn (Bob) Petro, Shallen (Randy) Stone, and Teri Titensor (deceased). Mom also has seven stepchildren: Diane (John) Adrian, Jeanie (Gene) Hathenbruck, Bill Barnes (deceased), Bruce Barnes (deceased, Sandy (Kit) Nield, Debbie Barnes, and Connie (Joe) Piccolo.
She has 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Jay (Charlotte) Clark, and Gary Clark; two sisters, Barbara Bowman and Sandra Clark. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Clark.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton. Friends may visit with family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
The family would like to thank Legacy Healthcare for the special care they showed to mom, especially Brandi, Stefanie, and Shauna.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden Utah.
