Bette Bingham Steers

“Together Again”

Bette Bingham Steers, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Monday, November 9, 2015.  She was born on December 26, 1921, the daughter of Walter Edward and Lillian Rose Jespersen Bingham.  She was born and raised in Riverdale, Utah.

She married Sheldon David Doman in October of 1942.  They had two children, Mike and Pat.  They were later divorced.  She married Harold R. Steers on April 13, 1961 in Ogden, Utah and their marriage was later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple in May 2006.  They had one child, Lisa Gilbert.  After 50 years of marriage, Harry passed away on November 9, 2011, four short years to the day before Bette.

Bette was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she enjoyed directing music.  Music was her life.  She sang with the Ogden Chorale for many years. She also sang with a group called “Make Mine Music”.

Family was her number one priority in life and was always surrounded by them.  Gardening was her second love.

Bette is survived by her children, Michael (Linda) Doman, South Dakota; Patricia Carol (Vern) Allen, Idaho; and Lisa (David) Gilbert, Ogden; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Tippetts, Slaterville; Nancy Olson, South Ogden; Kathleen Finch, Ogden; and Sandra Brown, St. George.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Canyon Hollows Ward, 1550 Rushton St., Ogden.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
