Bettie Jo (Peg) Todd Simonsen
Bettie Jo (Peg) Todd Simonsen was born June 7, 1931, the only child of Fred and June Todd in Idaho Springs, Colorado. On April 4, 2015, Dads “Little Bride” and our wonderful mother left us all behind to rejoin her husband of 59 years. Mom died unexpectedly at Davis Hospital of Acute Renal Failure.
Mom was a beautiful raven haired girl who caught Dad’s eye in Spokane, WA. After a whirlwind courtship, they were married in Coeur d’Alene, ID on November 3, 1951 when they were barely out of their teens. She became an Air Force wife and the mother of three children in their first four years of marriage. Together we traveled to Germany, Morocco and all over the United States. Mom was made of tough stuff and she juggled the kids, the moves and the husband like a trooper. She was an amazing cook and a meticulous homemaker, but above all she was a devoted wife and mother. She loved flowers, her garden, camping, taking rides anywhere, hummingbirds, all dogs, the color yellow and her fridgies.
Mom leaves behind her broken hearted children, Vicki (Rod) Sanders, Ken and Don, her seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren with another due in June. She was preceded in death by her amazing husband Stan, a grandson and her parents.
Many thanks to the staff and doctors in the ICU at Davis Hospital for the tender care they provided for our special patient.
A very special thanks to the Villas Assisted Living in Kaysville whose wonderful staff made mom feel right at home for the last six months.
Friends may visit family Friday, April 10, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
Mom will be inurned next to dad in the Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton Cemetery, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
We miss you beyond words.
