Betty L. Field Barton
LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Betty L. Field Barton, 82, devoted mother, positive friend, and loving wife left this mortal life Friday, August 27, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV.
She was born April 7, 1928 Lyman, Wyoming, the third child of five born to Robert and Grace Field.
She married James Richard Barton Nov 19, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Betty was active in her church and served in many positions including two service missions and as a Temple officiator in the Las Vegas Temple.
She and Jim owned a grocery store in Melba Idaho. They owned a farm in Nyssa, Oregon. She also worked for Hill Air Force Base for 22 years.
She was the loving happy mother of four children who survive her: Kevin James Barton (Nina) of Nampa, ID; Connie Berrett (David), Las Vegas; NV; Richard Edward Barton (Dale Ann) of Nampa, ID; Kristina Anderson (Mark) of Clio, MI. She was the fun grandmother to 14 grandchildren and crazy great-grandmother to 23 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister, Carol Packer (Vernon) of West Point.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy West, brother Ken Field, sister Peggy Coop, and her loving husband Jim.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the West Point 5th Ward Chapel, 3488 West 300 North.
Family will meet friends at the Ward Chapel on Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. She will be laid to rest at the West Point Cemetery.
