Betty A. Colburn

ROY- Betty Ann Colburn passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the University of Utah Medical Center.

She was born on January 30, 1938 in Laramie, Wyoming, to Alexander and Lydia Hehr Maser.

Betty married Harold Allen Colburn on June 22, 1959 in Ogden, Utah. They later divorced.

She was a devoted member of the Elim Lutheran Church in Ogden.

Betty loved to travel on cruise ships, her Utah Jazz, watching football, and gamble in Wendover and Las Vegas, NV. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

The family would like to recognize and give special thanks to the staff at the University of Utah Medical Center, her friend Judy Hill for their wonderful friendship throughout the years, and all her "Benni Friends", her classmates from St. Benedict''s Nursing School.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Bill Douglas (Roxane) Colburn, Arlington WA; Michael Allen (Maria) Colburn, West Haven; Karl Alex Colburn, Roy; Kathleen Colburn, Ogden; Linda Jane Colburn, Roy; six grandchildren, one brother, Alex (Annie) Maser, Rock Springs WY.; and one sister Vi Holmes, South Weber.

Preceding her in death were, Ed Maser, Lydia Esther Crawford and Karl Maser.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Elim Lutheran Church, 575 a€" 23rd Street.

Family will meet friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at Elim Lutheran Church. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park 4500 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Special Olympics.
