Betty LaMae Dayton, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family to return home to her Heavenly Father; loving husband, Dee; and three sons, Danny, David, and Douglas on Saturday, October 8, 2016.
Betty was born on December 28, 1929 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of John Ira and Pearl Mae Hillan Woodland.
Betty married her love, Dee D. Dayton on August 24, 1945 in Ogden, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 15, 1958. Together they have five sons and one daughter.
Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities throughout her life. She was an avid sportswoman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the great outdoors. She was talented in Japanese Bunka, ceramics, and many more arts and crafts.
Betty is survived by her children, Dennis Kay (Carlotta) Dayton, Darwin Eugene (Deana) Dayton, and Michelle Dayton (Philip) Davis; 23 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee; three sons, Danny, David, and Douglas; and four brothers.
The family wishes to thank everyone at Mt. Ogden Health and Rehabilitation Center for their care and support.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park.
