Betty Jean Enfield

OGDEN a€" Betty Jean Hadley Enfield, 89, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at a local care center.

She was born April 22, 1921 in Ogden, a daughter of James Forbes and Ella Maud London Hadley.

On April 14, 1940, Betty married Elmer I. Enfield in San Jose, California. Elmer preceded her in death on November 19, 1994.

She lived in Ogden, San Jose, Redwood Estates and Pismo Beach, California, later returning to Ogden.

Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was active in her branch at Emeritus Estates, attending her Relief Society and worship services.

She was a seamstress and made many of her girls clothes while they were growing up. She was always there for her children when they came home from school.

Betty enjoyed reading, knitting, camping, RV''ing and traveling. When Mom retired she became an artist, painting landscapes, roses and Native American portraits. Her girls remember their mother''s wonderful home cooked meals the most.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Emeritus Estates and to all the doctors and nurses at Wasatch Care Center, and for the tender care given by Hospice for Utah.

Surviving are two daughters, Colette Dawn (Bill) Virgil, Pleasant View; Kellie Lynn (Joe) Patton, Farr West; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Betty in death were her parents, her husband and one sister, Joy Ann Hadley Walters.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

Family will greet friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
