Betty Lou Smith Foggo

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Betty Lou Smith Foggo, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2014.  She was the daughter of William and Violet Christofferson Smith on April 30, 1931 in Logan, Utah.  She was raised in Logan and moved to Ogden in 1949.

Betty married William B. Foggo on August 1, 1952 in Logan, Utah.  They moved to Memphis in 1956 and returned to Utah in 1959.  They celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary in August of 2013.

She worked at Hill Air Force Base as a Production Controller and retired after 32 years.

Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities.  They included teaching, compassionate service leader, and Ogden Temple worker.

She loved gardening, photography, scrapbooking, crocheting, cooking, playing the piano, and reading.  She was also involved in Topps.

Betty is survived by her husband, William B. Foggo; son, Stephen (Carla) Foggo; daughters, Patrice (Jack) Rupe, LuAnne Tracy, and Charlene (Jimmy) Tippetts; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Melvin Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 5th Ward, 350 West 5100 South.  Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
