Betty Mae Johnson WASHINGTON TERRACE – Betty Mae Cone Johnson, 84, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in Washington Terrace. She was born September 17, 1922 in Seattle, Washington, a daughter of William Harrington and Laura Hovde Cone. On November 20, 1943, Betty married Clifford Haslam Johnson in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 13, 1964. Clifford died April 8, 1986. She was reared and educated in Seattle, Washington moving to Ogden in 1953. Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various callings. Her favorite calling was in the Stake Young Women’s and Stake Dance Director with her husband Clifford. She was a Deputy State Treasurer retiring after many years of service. Betty was a volunteer at St. Benedict’s and Ogden Regional Hospitals. She was president of the Utah Association of Hospital Auxiliaries. Betty loved to read, knit, sing, dance and play the piano. Her favorite thing was spending time with the “Musketeers Four’”, Betty, Laura Kay, Tami and Heidi. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Clifford William (Cathy) Johnson, Fallbrook, CA; Laura Kay (Ryan) Lee, Ogden; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one sister, Nina Loretta Morris, Rexburg, ID. Preceding Betty in death were her parents, her husband and one brother, William H. Cone. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Special thanks to the staff at Legacy House, and also to the staff of TCU at Ogden Regional Medical Center for their wonderful loving care.
