Betty C. Kenley
ELKO, Nevada - Betty C. Kenley, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed away peacefully at the home of her grandchildren Chuck (Janet) Thorsted of Uintah, with her loving husband Loyd of 66 years at her side.
Betty was born in Ogden, Utah on August 11, 1924 to Parley Burton and Ellen Allean Arton Chambers. Betty graduated from Weber High School in 1941.
She married Loyd W. Kenley on October 9, 1943 and served the next several decades raising three beautiful children and working two decades at JC Penney and Sears.
Betty loved planting flowers (especially roses), cooking, baking, canning, family picnics and gatherings. She had an extensive bell collection and loved having framed photos of all her loved ones surrounding her. She took great pride in keeping a clean home, and cared and loved all those she encountered.
She is survived by her husband Loyd; sons, Chris (Kristine) Kenley of Tuscarora, NV; and Layne (Mary Ann) Kenley of Elko, NV; a brother, Earl (Devon) Chambers of Eden, UT; and sisters, Mae Kenley and June Barker of Roy, UT; five grandchildren, Chuck (Janet) Thorsted, Dawn Michelle (James) Troop, Cara Kenley, Lindsay Kenley, Kimberly Kenley, and an adopted granddaughter, Jennifer (Andy) Niemiec, along with five great-grandchildren, Kodie, Kade, Jonathon, Morgan and Joseph, and two great-great- grandchildren, MacKenzie and Connar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Burton Chambers, two sisters, Vera Norman and Clara Holmes, a daughter, Joan Thorsted and a granddaughter, Sherrie Wright.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 11 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
