Betty Jean “B.J.” Scrogham ROY – B.J. Scrogham, 60, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born October 7, 1949 in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, a daughter of Hugo Arch and Alta Mae O’dell Smith. B.J. married John S. Larkin in 1965 in Richmond, Missouri. They were later divorced. She married John W. Scrogham in 1975 in Lexington, Missouri. They later divorced. She was raised and educated in Missouri where she resided until 1975. B.J. was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She retired from the Federal Government where she worked as a project manager and operations branch chief. B.J. enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Tom (Laurinda) Larkin, Independence, MO; Angel Casper, Roy; and six grandchildren, Joshua, Drew, Ashleigh, Dakota, John and Ashley. Also surviving are her mother, one brother, Larry (Sherry) Smith, three sisters, Huetta (Max) Snelling, Lois Harmon and Elaine (Tim) Myers, all of Richmond, MO; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding B.J. in death were her father and one sister, Sharon Kay Smith. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 17 at 5:00 p.m. at the West Lake LDS Ward Chapel, 2915 West 4425 South.
