PLEASANT VIEW a€" Betty Jean Sedgwick, 81, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 3, 1927 in Westlake, Ohio, the daughter of Fredrick H. and Grace E. Wuebker. She graduated from Dover High School in 1945 and then worked as a bookkeeper at National City Bank.

Betty married Robert M. Sedgwick on August 9, 1947 and became a homemaker. Later, she worked as a floral arranger and at other bookkeeping jobs.

Betty and Bob retired to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1982. They were members of the Deep Creek Golf Club where she participated in a Ladies League. She made many friends there and enjoyed many years of golfing and socializing. The highlights of her golfing career were her two Holes-in-One. In 2006, Betty and Bob moved to Pleasant View to be near their daughter. Betty''s other hobbies included crossword puzzles, bird watching and gardening. She loved animals and especially loved her beagle, Nacho, and her daughter''s basset hound, Tilly.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Bob, of 60 years, of Pleasant View; her daughter, Kathy Ann Sedgwick and her husband Ron Tymcio, her son, Robert Sedgwick and his wife, Darlene; two grandsons, Brandon Sedgwick and Christopher Sedgwick; her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Wendell Robinson; her niece, Susan Paul and her family, and her nephew, Terry Robinson and his family.

The family would like to express their thanks for Dr. Hansen, Dr. Oates and nurses Lance and Jennifer in the Intermediate Acute Care Unit at McKay-Dee Hospital.

Memorial services will be held Friday, March 28, 2008 at 11 a.m at the Elim Lutheran Church, 23rd and Jefferson Avenue.

Inurnment will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Westlake, Ohio.
