Our beloved Mother, Betty Price Thomas, 93, passed away of natural causes, peacefully with her four children by her side, on Friday, July 8, 2016 in Clearfield, UT.
Betty was born January 28, 1923 in Malad, ID to William Morse and Ann Hamblin Price. She was raised in Samaria and Malad. She married George Edmund Thomas on January 28, 1942, in Pocatello, ID. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. After her marriage to George, they lived in Idaho until moving to Utah where he was employed by HAFB. She has lived in Clearfield for the past 61 years, raising and loving her family.
Betty was a friend to everyone. Her happiest times were spent serving others. She loved being a Grandmother and made each grandchild feel they were her favorite. She loved family reunions, and at our recent Price reunion was the guest of honor. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, and embroidery, being a perfectionist with needle and thread. She had a natural love for animals, and always had a dog, cat, or both in her home. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan.
Betty is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was employed for several years at Rexall Drug in Clearfield.
Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, George, her mother and father and her siblings: Vera, Ida, William, Kathryn, Emma, and Earl.
Betty is survived by her four children: Errol (Nedra) Thomas, Clearfield; Vera Lee (Legrand) Olsen, West Bountiful; Betty Ann (Dennis) Morrison, Albuquerque, NM; and John Craig (Lynn) Thomas, Clearfield; 18 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and her sweet sister, Annie Jones of Orem.
We love you Mom and will miss your sweet smile, contagious laughter, and the twinkle in your eye, but we know we will be with you and Dad eternally.
Our family would like to express appreciation to the nurses and aides at Chancellor Gardens and Hospice for their kind and loving care for our mother.
