Betty Lou “SooTall” Vine

ROY - Betty Lou “SooTall” Vine, 72, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016.

She was born December 3, 1943 in Bainbridge, Ohio to Orval Lewis and Margret Everhart. She was raised by her aunt Grace J. Tharpe in Groveport, Ohio.

In 1970, Betty married John Edward Vine, Jr., and together they raised seven kids in Utah.

She will be greatly missed.

Betty is survived by her husband, John, daughters, Sandra (Keith) Hamblin, Cheryl (Steve) Ure, Penny (Robert) Cherry, Edna (Keith) Johnson, sons, Rick Stewart, Edward (Erin) Vine, 25 grandkids, and 38 great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, father and mother-in-law, son, EJ Vine, daughter, Ronda Jessop, two great-grandsons, and a brother and sister-in-law. Betty wasn’t a registered donor but after her passing the family was contacted about donating, and now thanks to her someone will be receiving new eye lenses.

A memorial service organized by the family will be held at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 16th at the mortuary. The family will meet with friends from 9:30 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral.

The family asks in respect of Betty’s wishes to be casually dressed and in lieu of flowers and in her own words, “TONS of sunflowers”.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
