Beulah Maxine Anderson Clark "Bea"
Beulah Maxine Anderson Clark "Bea" passed away on May 16, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Layton, Utah. She was 93 years old when she returned home to her Heavenly Father after fulfilling her earthly mission with great joy and happiness.
Bea was born on December 15, 1918 in Douglas, Kansas to Ethel Mae Robbins and Arthur Monroe Anderson. She was the 5th of 8 children with 2 sisters and 5 brothers. She also had several half brothers and sisters that she was very close to.
Her early education was in Kansas where she attended several different schools some of which were one room school houses. She often rode a horse to school.
She was married at the age of 16 to Don Ray and was blessed with 2 children, Donna J. Ray and Robert Ray. She was later divorced.
She continued her education and became a teacher. It was while teaching that she met "Fred" her sweetheart of almost 50 years. They were married August 22, 1945 in the Presbyterian Church in Chico, California and enjoyed many wonderful adventures together until his death on April 17th 1995. They were blessed with 3 children, Lance A. Clark, John F. Clark and Susan D.Clark Anderson. When her children came she put aside her teaching career and focused most of her love and energy making a wonderful happy home for her family. She used her teaching skills to teach and train her children and grandchildren throughout her life. She had an ability with special needs children that was way before her time. She was an advocate for the care and training of those who had special needs.
The Clark''s spent many happy years traveling all over the US and abroad. But all "vacations" seemed to include visits to dear friends and loved ones.
Bea loved others. She had dinner parties, bridge parties and many family gatherings. Her primary goal was to get people together and make sure that all felt welcome. She gathered her children and grandchildren and taught them various skills like cooking, horseback riding, singing, knitting, crocheting, shooting guns, how to drive a tractor!!! But her main hope was that her loved ones serve others. She taught this great principal by example.
Bea was a woman of faith. She taught her children to believe in God and that Jesus is the Christ. She attended several different churches in her lifetime and in January of 2007 was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was sealed to her sweetheart in February of 2008 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was survived by 3 half brothers and one half sister. Also survived by 5 children: Judy Warner a" Franklin, Indiana; Donna Ray a" Las Vegas, Nevada; Lance Clark a" Layton, Utah; John Clark a" Weimar, California; and Suzi Anderson a" Layton, Utah Son-in-Law Dennis Anderson a" Layton, Utah. In addition she is survived by many many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. She has 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 24 great great grandchildren and 2 great great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Clark, 7 siblings and a son Bobby Ray.
A special Thank you to Rocky Mountain Hospice and the many caregivers that took such tender care of her for the past 5 years. She knew that you loved her.
