NORTH OGDEN a€" Beverly S. Barker, 73, passed away Friday, January 9, 2009 from a long battle with health complications due to an automobile accident.

She was born January 15, 1935, in Ogden, a daughter of Martin and Esther E. East Smith.

Beverly married Gilbert Lee Barker on December 2, 1954.They were later divorced.

Beverly was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was employed with McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden for 26 years.

Beverly enjoyed her family and friends, kids and grandkids, going for rides with her sisters and trips to Wendover. Beverly had such a fun, easy way about her that won over everyone she came across. She had such a big, loving heart and would do anything for anyone. Even with all her complications she had the best attitude towards life and never lost her sense of humor. She was our hero and will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Beverly is survived by four children, Shar Branz, Ogden; Keith (Shelly) Barker, Ogden; Kent Barker, North Ogden; Karen (Troy) Deschamps, North Ogden; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Beverly also leaves behind three sisters, Velma Stout, Violet McCreary, Donna Lane, and one brother, Glen Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at McKay-Dee Hospital, South Davis Hospital, and especially Heritage Park Care Center for the love, care and friendship the staff gave to our sweet mother and family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
