Bill George Delis
March 25, 1961 ~ July 13, 2021
Bill George Delis passed away unexpectedly on July 13, 2021 in Pleasant View, Utah. He was born in Ogden, Utah at Dee Hospital to George Gus Delis and Angeline Thiros Delis on March 25, 1961.
Bill married his wife Lesli Leonard on December 20, 1996, after ten years together.
He attended the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in South Ogden, Utah from a young age and continued attending throughout his life.
In his early years he enjoyed spending time with his brothers Dean (Janie) Delis and John (deceased) Delis, and cousins, either outside, or building things. He had a knack for mechanical things and enjoyed learning how to fix things by taking them apart and putting them back together, starting at a young age. When he was younger, he enjoyed working on vehicles, riding dirt bikes with his brothers, and skiing.
In his younger years he worked at Snow Basin as a mechanic, working on the ski lift, and skiing with his brother John. He also worked at Bowman and Kemp, as well as Smiths Foods Distributions Center. Later in life, he started his career at Walmart Distribution Center 6090 in Corrine, UT in 1997 and ended his career in 2018. He started working in the freezer and worked his way up to a Senior Operations Manager by the time he was done. He was well liked and respected by his coworkers and made lifelong friends. He took pride in his work, and he helped make his distribution center the #1 in the nation multiple years throughout his career.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially taking trips to Disneyland. He thought of himself as a “Disneyland Dad” and the best memories were made there. He also enjoyed, camping, and taking drives in his truck. He had two girls Mackenzie and Sophia who were his pride and joy. He did his best to make sure his family never went without and made sure his daughters stayed on the right path in life. He had a firm belief that if you work hard enough you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to. He never took handouts by working hard for everything he had. Following his brother John's death, he took his nephew Luca (George) under his wing as if he were his own.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, George Delis; brother, John Delis; and mother-in-law, Marjorie Leonard. He is survived by his wife, Lesli Delis; daughters, Mackenzie (James) Kidder, and Sophia Christina; his grandson, Wyatt Kidder; his mother, Angeline Delis; his brother, Dean (Janie) Delis; his father-in-law, Jon (Sharon) Leonard; his brother-in-law, Matt (Becky) Leonard; and his nieces and nephews, Luca (George), Angela, Christopher, Harrison, Mason, Eli and Calleigh. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. The last few years he has suffered from health and mental complications, and now he is finally at peace. May his memory be eternal.
