Bill Remon Stoney

June 27, 1930 ~ April 6, 2018

Our loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Bill Stoney, 87, peacefully passed into the next life April 6, 2018 in Ogden, UT.

Bill was born in Ogden on June 27, 1930, son of Remon and Violet (Grieve) Stoney. He graduated from Ogden High School. He worked and retired from Mountain Fuel.

Bill married Dorene Oakey Stoney on February 24, 1960. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the LDS Logan Temple on June 22, 1970. Together they raised their family in Harrisville, UT.

He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, being with family, watching westerns and telling stories.

Bill is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in several capacities throughout the years, enjoying each new calling as they came.

He is survived by his wife, Dorene Stoney; six children: Annette (Lew) Jolley, Carla Cordova, Jill Stoney, Rich (Suzann) Stoney, JR (Leann) Stoney, David Stoney; siblings: Emma Jean (Neil) Thurston, John (Sonya) Stoney; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both parents; sister, LeVern (Arlo) Palmer; grandson, Shane Lamb; and daughter- in-law, Suzann Stoney.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
