Billy Kathryn Cheaney Egleston

Salt Lake City a€" Billy Egleston passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side Thursday, June 25, 2009. Billy was born March 31, 1926 in Snyder, OK to Roy Charles and Fay Lavina Cheaney.

Billy grew up on the farm in OK, but she and her family later moved to CA. She married Lemuel Roy (Tom) Egleston August 29, 1946 in Corona, CA.

Billy, Tom, and their children traveled the world with the military. They eventually landed at Hill Air Force Base in 1973, and UT quickly become home. Billy was a wonderful mother, and loved being with her children and grandchildren. She completed an Associate''s Degree in Interior Design and owned her own business in Ogden. Billy was very classy and talented and had an eye for beauty. She was an avid reader, loved gardening flowers and needlepoint.

Billy was preceeded in death by her husband Lt. Col. L. R. Egleston, January 13, 1982, her parents, and her brother.

She is survived by her four children: David (Cindy) Egleston of Oregon City, OR; Becky (Brad) Grubel of Herriman, UT; Jon (Valerie) Egleston of Arlington, WA; and Cari (Jeff) Stokes of Mountain Green, UT; five grandchildren all of whom she adored: Josh, Eric, Tom, Karlee and Garet.

Her family wishes to thank the staff at Highland Care Center and St. Marks Hospital for her good care.

Family will greet friends Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m.

Interment, Fort Douglas Cemetery, Salt Lake City.
