Billy Lee Garcia
October 28, 1935 ~ December 9, 2018
Billy Lee Garcia passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018. She was born on October 28, 1935, the daughter of Jesse Vernon and Margarette “Peggy” Groves and Eloy Ortega. Mom has gone to heaven to be with her beloved husband, Amos and family that passed before her.
She married the love of her life, Amos R Garcia on February 25, 1952 in Green River, Wyoming. Amos passed away on July 1, 2007.
Billy Lee was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and gave to those in need. She loved her family dearly and only wanted their happiness and success. She was proud of all their accomplishments. She was strong, opinionated, and old school. Her intentions were pure of heart, no apologies necessary. She enjoyed preserving family history with scrapbooks for all members of her family. She enjoyed collecting chuchulucos and she never met a dragon she didn’t adore. She loved playing cards, family Christmas parties, traveling, Hallmark movies, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. This last year her health took a toll and it was harder for her to do the things she loved. She had a beautiful smile and a feisty spirit. She will be missed and remembered always.
Billy Lee is survived by her children, Tina Baker of Ogden, UT and San Jose, CA, Eloy (Betty) Garcia of Roy, UT, Cynthia (Malcolm) Reeves of Columbia, MO, Shawn (Joe) Cox of Sherwood, AR, Jason (Heather) Garcia of Jacksonville, AR; Grandchildren, Candace Jensen, Sarah (Chad) Grenier, Matthew (Jen) Cox, Shanna (PJ) Brown, Michael (Lourdes) Cox, Trevor Reeves, Kyle (Sara) Garcia, and Margaret (Mike) Watters; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jane Garcia, Lucy Casias, and Bernice Ortega; her dear friend, Bessie Rodriguez; her God-daughters, Reine, Lindy, and Grace; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was blessed with a loving extended family and dear friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Amos; parents, Jesse Vernon Groves, Margarette “Peggy” Oxley, and Eloy Ortega; brothers, Aaron Ortega and Domenico Ortega; brothers-in-law, Eddie Garcia and Gus Garcia, and her cherished son-in-law, Gary Baker.
