Billy C. Parker passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at the age of 87. He was born May 10, 1930 to Emmett Daniel Parker and Vicie Helen Taylor, the third of eleven children. He was raised in Pemberton, West Virginia and graduated from Sophia High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served in England and North Africa. During his time in the Air Force he married Phillis Jean Coskey and together they raised two children, Michael and Debbie.
His military career was spent at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, France, Germany, South Carolina, Elmendorf (Alaska) and finished his career at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. He retired after 25 years and worked for the fire department with the Air Force at Lakeside, Utah. Bill served as a military policeman and while at Elmendorf spent time a wildlife officer. He was also a member of the Pistol and Rifle team.
After Jean passed away in 2000, Bill remarried Edith Hansen. They were snowbirds, spending summers in Layton, UT and winters in Ajo, Arizona.
Bill was a member of the Christian Life Center in Layton, Utah. He loved camping, fishing and especially golf and spent much of his retired life in that pursuit.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Helen, wives Jean and Edie, his sister Doris, and brothers Lloyd, Danny, Emmett and Frank. He is survived by his sister Norma, his brothers Jack, Johnny, Jim and Bob, children Mike (Chris) and Debbie (Curtis) and grandchildren Caitlin, Steven and Sarah.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 at the mortuary.
