Birdeen E. “Birdie” Thompson
LAYTON - Birdeen E. Thompson “Birdie”, 76, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 at Apple Village in Layton, UT. She was born June 12, 1932 to William and Annie Cook Hodson in Layton, Utah. She married Ray Barker Thompson on June 10, 1950. He passed away on February 22, 2004.
She was a lifelong resident of South Ogden and Layton. Her full time occupation was being a devoted wife and mother. Her greatest joy was her husband Ray and she took great pride and interest in her children’s accomplishments. She had very creative talents, which led her to owning and operating Birdies Flower Wagon. Birdie touched the hearts of many faithful customers and friends. She loved to arrange flowers – the friends in her life were treasures and she had a kind soul with lots of wisdom.
Birdeen is survived by two sons, W. Brad Thompson and Tat (Holly) Thompson; three daughters, Brenda (Mark) Willey, Jacoy (Craig) Kellerstrass and Gidget (James) Webber. Brother, Bill Hodson, Sister, Lois Fullmer and sister-in-laws, Rae Hodson and Ruth Tatarian; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ray, parents, son Bart H. Thompson, Daughter, Robin
Thompson, grandson, Cameron Kellerstrass, brothers, Layne Hodson and Gerold Hodson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No
Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Friday from 12 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
