Blaine Wallace Barber
November 10, 1930 ~ July 4, 2018
Blaine Wallace Barber, 87, was reunited with his beloved wife on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. He was born on November 10, 1930 in Syracuse, Utah to B. Wallace and Ethel Barber.
On May 21, 1951, he married the love of his life Vernelda Pickett in Ogden, Utah. Together they spent 51 wonderful years before her passing in 2003. He honorably served in the United States Army and bravely fought for our country in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he worked at the Defense Depot Ogden where he eventually retired.
If you ask Blaine, he would say he was a simple man. Anyone that knows him would say otherwise. He touched the lives of anyone he encountered. He loved spending time with all his grandkids and great-grandkids and looked forward to his weekly “Sunday Dinners” with them. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, trips to Wendover, and you could always count on him sneaking cookies back to his room late at night.
Blaine is survived by his four children: Craig D. (Debra) Barber; Cathy (Gary) Hurst; Kevin W. Barber; and Kaylene Kies; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 1 brother, and 5 sisters.
