Blair Merlin Green

Blair Merlin Green died at home on August 26th, 2015, surrounded by his beloved wife Sandra, his children, and his adoring grandchildren.
Blair was born to Merlin and Norma (Hancock) Green on February 3, 1945, in Kanesville Utah. He drove his first team of work horses at age five on his father's dairy farm, and maintained an impeccable and steadfast work ethic his entire life. After high school, he traded his graduation cap for his "Class A's" joining the Army Reserves before leaving for an LDS mission to the Eastern Atlantic States.

His mission brought out his finest gifts of engaging humor and friendly conversation as he shared the gospel he cherished. After striking gold and marrying Sandra Jean Stuart in the LDS Salt Lake Temple, they adopted eight children from the U.S. and Mexico.

Blair carried his affable people skills into his Colorado pretzel business, skyrocketing sales and earning him the nickname "The Pretzel Man." After retirement, he granted his wife Sandra her fondest dream of serving a senior LDS mission, being called to the Des Moines Iowa Mission, where they loved the people of Marshalltown.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, five sons and three daughters: 1) Bret (Jessica) Green of West Jordan UT, 2) Melanee (Michael) Evans of Longview WA, 3) Stuart Green of Layton UT, 4) Brandon Green of Clearfield UT, 5) Braun Green of SLC UT, 6) Jeanna Green of UT, 7) Shaun (Suva) Green of West Valley UT, 8) Alycia Green of Clearfield UT, and 22 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Stake Center, 615 N. Flint.  Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.

Special thanks to Intermountain Hospice for their loving care.
