Blair Jay Lierd

March 27, 1963 ~ July 26, 2017

Blair Jay Lierd, 54, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.  He was born in Ogden, UT, the son of Gary Robert and Kathleen Moffitt Lierd on March 27, 1963.  He grew up in Ogden where he graduated from Weber High School and attended Weber State University.

Blair married his soulmate, Brandi Whitaker, on April 30, 1988 in Ogden, Utah. They moved to Seattle, WA shortly after, where they were blessed with two sons. Brandi and Blair resided in Seattle for 6-years then moved to Eden in 1995.

Blair was fortunate enough to live and work in a place he loved most. He was a real estate broker/owner of Destination Properties and Peak 2 Peak Management Co. One of Blair’s proudest accomplishments was having partial ownership in Wolf Creek Resort, where he served as the General Manager of the Wolf Creek Golf Course. He was also a member of the Ogden Valley Business Association. Blair’s past work history includes: Owner/Manager of South Fork Chevron and Ace Hardware in Huntsville, UT, Sales Representative at Wasatch Mountain Marketing, and Regional Manager for Hill-Rom.

Blair strived to excel in everything that he did, including his hobbies. He spent his younger years playing league softball, hunting, and snowmobiling. One friend referred to him as ‘The Davey Crockett of Eden’. Blair also had a passion for fly-fishing, skiing, and especially the game of golf. His greatest loves were spending time with his family and being on the golf course.

Blair is survived by his wife, Brandi, and sons, Mick T. and Dylan J. of Eden; father, Gary (Kathy) Lierd, North Ogden; mother, Kathleen Lierd, Plain City; brother, Bart (Gabby) Lierd; and sister, Shelly (Tim) Gibson, Plain City.

Blair’s family would like to sincerely thank his friends and the Wolf Creek community for all of their love and support. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Eileen Burke, for her endless love, devotion, and support throughout this difficult time.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Arbor Lodge, 3923 North Wolf Creek Dr., Eden, UT. Friends and relatives can greet the family from 5 to 6 p.m. with a memorial service from 6 to 7 p.m. and a celebration of his life from 7 to 9 p.m. on the patio next to Arbor Lodge.  Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Weber Pathways to help connect Wolf Creek Resort with a trail to the existing trail system around the Ogden Valley. https://www.weberpathways.org
