Our beloved husband, father, son and brother, Bo Simmons, left us on Thursday, November 29, 2012 after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He died at home with his wife, daughter and mother by his side.
He was born August 4, 1947 in Marrero, Louisiana to Curtis and Dorothy Bourg Simmons.
Bo enlisted in the US Air Force in 1967, served in Vietnam and retired in 1987. During his military service, he lived in many different states and countries, which allowed him to see the world. After his retirement, he stayed at home and was Mr. Mom until he returned to work at Iomega.
On November 7, 1980, Bo married Marguerite Perez in Sumter, South Carolina. They made their home in Riverdale for 27 years.
Bo was a kind and quiet man who touched everyone. Although small in stature and a man of few words, his heart was the size of Texas.
He enjoyed computers, bike riding, restoring his ''34 Ford, and spending time with family and friends.
Bo loved life and loved his family most of all. He leaves behind his wife, Marguerite, daughter Angel, son Chad, grandchildren, Eli, Jeremy, Savanah, mother Dorothy, sisters, Curty Ann (Robert) Green, Dorothy Ann (John) Maniscalco, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis and one son, Jeremy Bo Simmons.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 4th at 10 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
The family will meet with friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
