OGDEN – Bobby “Bob” Dale Christensen, our amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away and traveled to his next fishing hole on the 27th of October, 2015. Bob lived a very full and adventurous life, he loved being with his family and friends. Bob was born in, Mt. Pleasant, Utah on May 10, 1942, son of Glen J. and Oneita B. Christensen.
Bob had three main loves in life, his wife Dana, fishing and scuba diving. After working as a welder for several years, he started a new adventure in scuba diving. He became an instructor in 1979. He started teaching classes for Neptune Divers, University Of Utah, and for Scuba Utah and soon opened his own dive shop “Dive Utah” along with his partner Jim Miller.
Although Bob loved to scuba dive, he loved to fish. He would go fishing any chance he could. His favorite places to go fishing were Daniels and Strawberry reservoirs.
After 35 years traveling around the world scuba diving Bob opened another business “Lockaway Storage “where he built many friendships with the customers.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Dana; daughters, Leslie (Phil) Wingfield, Ogden and Bobbi Jo (Bill) Stewart, Castle Rock WA; Stepsons, Mike (Bidhya) Burton SLC; Jason (Sarah) Burton, Ogden; and Scot Carpenter, Seattle WA; sister, Linda (Lyndell) Cox, St George and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Oneita Christensen; and his uncle and aunt, Dale and Bobbie Christensen.
Bob decided long ago to donate his body to the U of U School of Medicine, therefore, only an evening viewing will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2015. Friends may visit with family from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
The family expresses our sincere gratitude to the loving staff and caregivers at Rocky Mountain Hospice. We would also like to express a special thank you and appreciation to Dennis Morton and Hal Defries.
