Bonnie Cieslewicz

December 21, 1951 — July 14, 2021

Bonnie Lee Christensen Cieslewicz

Bonnie Lee Christensen Cieslewicz, our sweet wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, after enduring numerous health issues this past year. Bonnie was born on December 21, 1951, to Milton H. Christensen and Neva Williams Christensen in Pocatello, Idaho, the second of three children. The family later moved to Bountiful, Utah, where she spent most of her youth and graduated from Bountiful High School.

She married her sweetheart, David Cieslewicz, on July 29, 1970. They spent close to 51 years loving and affectionately teasing one another. They were blessed with two children, and five grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and to whom she dedicated her life.

Bonnie was creative and artistic, always making something out of nothing, painting with watercolors and acrylics, and decorating her home to make a cozy and inviting atmosphere. She loved camping, especially at the family ranch in Malad, Idaho, where she looked forward to family reunions and becoming reacquainted with her cousins, who number more than fifty. She cherished her relationships with her family and friends and was most happy when she was in their company. Bonnie was loving, kind, and fun. She threw the best parties, which often included personalized goody bags, paying close attention to the tiniest details so that everything was just perfect. Bonnie was a kid at heart and believed that no matter how old you were, you needed a toy, and she made sure you had one. She had a knack for finding the most unique, loud, and silly ones which made birthdays, holidays, and every day extra exciting.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed sharing her talents and especially loved serving as Secretary in the Primary Presidency, Girl’s Camp Director, and painting scenery for the roadshows.

Bonnie knew trauma, heartache, and pain, experiencing these things at a young age. She used her experiences to offer her compassion and advice to those she felt could use it. Throughout her life she faced each trial that came her way with perseverance and as much strength as she could gather, even until the very end. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now free from her earthly worries and afflictions as she is reunited with those who have already passed from this life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Ron. She is missed and survived by her loving husband David Cieslewicz, her children Brian (Jen) Cieslewicz of Camas, WA; Jennie (JoeRob) Benton of Layton; five grandchildren: Brinley, Aleksa, Spencer, Gabbie, and Lillie; her brother Don (Lesa) Christensen of West Bountiful; as well as her husband’s siblings: Paul (Kathy) Cieslewicz of Toquerville; Barbara Cieslewicz of Missoula, MT; Laura (Bart) Barrus of Newbury Park, CA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
