Bonnie Jean Glismann

Bonnie Jean Glisman, 82, passed away with her daughter Linda at her side on Sunday, October 26, 2014. She was born on April 27, 1932 to Goldie and Alan Bucher in Ogden, Utah. She earned her diploma from Ogden High School in 1950. She attended Weber State College earning an associate degree.
She married Richard “Dick” Glismann on September 12, 1952 and they shared 57 years together.
Shortly after Bonnie and Richard were married they started collecting a variety of rocks which became a lifelong passion for them.
Together they traveled extensively throughout the U.S. attending rock shows and visiting their many friends all in their beloved fifth wheel trailer.
Bonnie went back to school and received her teaching certificate. As a teacher at Burch Creek and Uintah Elementary Schools she passed on the love of rocks to her students. Many of her formal pupils still cherish their egg carton rock collections. She truly earned the title of “Rock Lady”. Richard and Bonnie donated their extensive collection of rocks to the Dinosaur Park Museum.
Bonnie was a born leader and was an energetic member and president of several organizations including Elim Lutheran Women’s Association, Theta Chapter of DKG, Golden Spike Gem and Mineral Society, and Intermountain Faceters Guild.
She was an active member of Elim Lutheran Church.
Bonnie leaves a legacy for her daughter, Linda (Alan), Cusick, WA and son, Rich (Carol), Sterling, VA; grandsons, Garret and Jordan Hyde, and Warren (Bethany) and Andrew Glismann.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and daughter, Gayle and a brother Jim.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Elim Lutheran Church, 575 23 rd , Ogden, UT 84401. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park.
The family wishes to extend thanks to Bonnie’s many friends and the staff at Legacy Village in Layton and Curo Hospice services for all their love, concern, and support, especially Dominique Bisseger.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation be made to the Elim Lutheran Church Restoration Fund.
