Bonnie Jean Owen Stitt, 80, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016. She was born on September 18, 1935 in Logan, Utah, to William Lavon and May Jensen Owen. She later moved to Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School.
She married William Karl Stitt on October 12, 1952 in Las Vegas, NV. They celebrated 63 years of marriage in 2015.
Bonnie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Bonnie worked and retired from IRS and met with her IRS friends monthly.
She enjoyed bowling, sewing, quilting, and shopping for good deals. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, William K. Stitt of Ogden; sons, Timothy K. Stitt and Ryan William Stitt both of Ogden; daughters, Pamela S. Nelson and Vicki S. Sparks both of Green River, WY, and Joan S. Stevenson of Ogden; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, brother, Gordon J. (Ann) Owen of Cottonwood Heights; and sisters, Lavonda Stitt (Donald C) of North Ogden; Carol Larkin of Woods Cross; Sharol (George) Barnett of Ogden; and Billie Lou (Larry) Carr of Colbert, WA.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristine S. Earl; grandson, Jonathon K. Nelsen; parents, William L. and May J. Owen; parents, William L. and May J. Owen; sisters-in-law, Gladys Dover and Sharon Weaver; brothers-in-law, Leroy Hubble, Paul Stitt, and Morrel Weaver; and ex-brother-in-law, William Hymas.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
