Bonnie Jean Orme

Bonnie Jean Janosky Orme, 73, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 7, 2016 in Layton, UT after a valiant struggle with cancer. She was born on March 20, 1942 in Salt Lake City, UT to Bernard Anthony Janosky and Lillian Emma Cutler.

Bonnie grew up with a love of reading, writing, and Arabian horses. She attended Brigham Young University and was an avid BYU fan. She served an LDS mission in the Eastern Atlantic States Mission where she met the love of her life, Kenneth Orme. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 17, 1965.

Bonnie served the Lord and her family without any need for acknowledgement. She could always be found reading a good book and eventually wrote and published a novel titled “Crosswinds” in 1996. Bonnie always had a way of showing love without even speaking.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Kenneth, her four sons, Paul (Wendy), Scott, Michael, and Brent (Sarah), her 12 grandchildren, and her brother David. She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Syracuse 3rd Ward Meetinghouse, 2679 S. 1000 W., Syracuse, UT. Friends may gather with the family on Friday, February 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.

Interment will be held following the funeral at the Syracuse City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested you donate to the American Cancer Society. Special thanks to all of the staff at Utah Cancer Specialists, Dr. Jason Stinnett, and Davis Hospital and Medical Center for all of the medical care provided throughout Bonnie’s fight with cancer.
