LAYTON – On Monday, August 15, 2016, Boyd M. Allison passed away peacefully in his home of pneumonia.
Boyd M. Allison was born August 12, 1919 in Shenandoah, Iowa to Benjamin Richard and Elsie Ethel Waggoner Allison. He attended schools in Agency, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother, sisters, Margery (Marvin) Frogge, Margaret (LaVerne) Pearl, Kathryn Main, Mary Ann (Jack) Brady and brother Benjamin Jr. (Jeanne) Allison.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, some of which was in Luzon, Philippines.
Boyd married Bonnie Perkins on April 3, 1969 in Elko, Nevada.
Survived by one daughter, Joanna, and three grandchildren, Murlin, Dalton, and Payton, who called him Uncle Boyd, and many nieces and nephews.
Boyd enjoyed family, children, camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, the JAZZ, and sports of all kinds. He also liked coffee at Sill’s Café with his friends. He was a farmer in the Midwest, growing acres of corn and raising pigs for market. After moving out West, he was a carpenter building many bridges on the interstate, Weber Canyon project, Starvation Dam and numerous buildings throughout the state.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Altamont Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.
