Boyd “Derphen” Jensen
February 4, 1935 ~ March 26, 2022
Boyd was born in Heiner, Utah, to Ilean Jane and Firrel A. Jensen. He was raised in Emery and Green River, Utah.
He joined the Marine Corps when turning 18 years of age; serving three years in Korea during the Korean War. While on leave, Boyd met and later married Bonnie Lou Searle in March of 1955. They worked and lived in several states, finally making their home in Syracuse, Utah in 1970.
Boyd enjoyed the outdoors. He worked construction, oil fields, and driving trucks across country. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
Boyd is survived by his two daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Shepherd, Clinton, Utah and Debra Jensen, Draper, Utah; 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary (Judy) Jensen and Clevon (Donna) Jensen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lou; his parents and four sisters.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
