Boyd Allan Whitby

Boyd Allan Whitby, age 89 passed away on October 26, 2023, in Brigham City, Utah. He was born to Jennie Adams and Ernest Leroy Whitby, on July 3, 1934, in Overton, Nevada.

He married Lueve Winward in Salt Lake City, Utah, on September 4, 1953. He graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor’s degree. They were blessed with seven wonderful children; John Allan (Anna) of Kaysville, Utah; LuAnn Whitby of Centerville, Utah, Susan (David) Earnshaw of Stansbury Park, Utah; Robert Whitby (Angela) in Corydon, Kentucky; Art Whitby (Brenda) of Bedford, Wyoming; William Whitby of Brigham City, Utah; and Michelle Hancey (Kevin) of Paradise, Utah. They were also blessed with 28 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. 

Boyd was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many leadership positions. He also served in the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart and 2 Bronze service Stars. One of his many duties were working as a Military police-Provost Marshall. This led to him traveling to many wonderful places such as Nevada, Kansas, Korea, Georgia, Hawaii, Vietnam, New Jersey, Alaska, Nebraska and Utah.

Some of his Hobbies and interests that he enjoyed were fishing, hunting, fly tying, coin collecting, football, track, and wrestling.

He is preceded in death by parents, brother Art Whitby; sister, Louise Perry, son, John Allan Whitby, daughter, LuAnn Whitby; grandson, David Allan Whitby, granddaughter, Rachel Lu Hancey; and son-in law, David Earnshaw.
