Roy

Brenda Adele Wilde, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Roy on Friday, October 4, 2024.

Born, October 8, 1939, in Ogden, Utah, Brenda was the third of four children of Clifford Alton and Norma Iola Bever Wilde.

Raised and schooled in Ogden, Brenda graduated from Ogden High School and went on to earn her master’s degree from Utah State University and became a high school teacher.

She taught at Bonneville High School and transferred to Roy High in 1975, moving to Roy in 1976. After retiring from teaching, she went to work for IRS, retiring a second time after many years there.

Brenda loved to travel the world and visit as many countries as she could. She has been to almost every continent of the world. She has been to Israel, China, and Russia, traveled throughout Europe and Scandinavia, and even rode the Orient Express, and she has visited Australia and New Zealand, as well as Mexico, Central, and South America. Many of these trips were either were her fellow teachers and students or just fun trips with her cousins.

Brenda was always impeccably dressed. When she wasn’t traveling, she enjoyed quiet time to herself at home. She loved the color pink and was known to her high school friends as “Pinky.”

Brenda loved to read books on her kindle and was a huge fan of the Utah Jazz. She was so excited about her upcoming birthday and the beginning of Jazz season. She left this world happy and ready to meet with family who have already gone on to the other side.

Brenda is survived by her nephew, John R. McHugh, Anaconda, MT; great-nephews, Matthew (Kristie) McHugh, Pleasant Grove, UT; Christopher (Jennifer) McHugh, also of Anaconda; and ten great nieces and nephews; as well as by her cat, Spook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Norma Joyce McHugh, brothers, Alton Wilde and Brent Wilde, and by her cat, Shadow.

Graveside Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Uintah City Cemetery, 1500 E 6450 S, Uintah.
