KAYSVILLE – Brent Elvin Barney, 68, passed away April 29, 2019.
He was born May 19, 1950 the son of Elvin Orin and Betty Newbold Barney in Murray, Utah.
Brent married Carole Rae Sutherland on May 13, 1977 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland Temple in 2006.
Brent grew up in Riverton UT, and graduated from Bingham High School in 1968. He spent a majority of his life as a masterful second generation tile setter. He loved classic autos, motorcycles and was a member of the Temple Riders Association. He enjoyed many callings within the Willow Pines Ward, and managing the Kaysville community garden. He enjoyed many hobbies and found beauty in everything. If he wasn’t working on hobbies, or lending a helping hand, he could often be found having hour long conversations with strangers. He was devoted to his family, his friends and his faith.
Surviving are his wife Carole, sons, Lance (Linzee) Privett, Brent (Amy) Barney, daughters, Gayla (Chris) Walters, Michelle LeSueur, Cassie Vasquez, Brandy (Joe) Rider, 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, mother, Betty, brothers, Boyd (Crystal), Lee (Kristi), Kyle (Patty), sisters, Connie Sue (Sherm) Lloyd and Karla (James “Buster”) Smith.
Preceded in death by his father, sister, Tamara Fowler and niece, Katie Fowler.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Willow Pines Ward, 50 W. 331 S. Kaysville, UT. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses can be made to the Brent Barney Memorial Account at America First Credit Union.
