Brent Day

Brent Day

Brent Williams Day, our loving Husband, Dad, and Papa Brent returned to his heavenly home Friday August 4, 2017 peacefully in his sleep.

Brent was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 20, 1953 to Charles Phil Day and Georgia Sharlene Williams.

His whole life he took great pride in his work.  When he was very young, his first job was selling cigarettes and cinnamon suckers at school to pay for his lunch.  When he was old enough he started dragging sprinkling systems around to water fields with his step-father Don.  Later, he started his first real job for Carr Printing in Bountiful and felt very fortunate.  He then had the opportunity to work for the Union Pacific Railroad for 10 years.  After that he became a journeyman pressman on a 4-colored printing press at Sun Litho Graphic Designs.  During that time, he taught himself how to sew while watching Mike Bessy.  He then created BWD Designs in his home that he has lived in and cherished since 1977.   He mastered his upholstery craft until he retired in 2012.

Brent married his best friend Karen Rawlins on April 4, 1985.  Together with the love of his life, they have two daughters Hailee (Colton) McSwain and Brandi, and 3 beautiful grandchildren; Joee, Lottie, and Max.  They are his pride and joy.  Brent loved all of us with his whole heart.

Brent was many things.  He was a self-taught master craftsman and his meticulous skill led him to win best in show in upholstery for boats of all kinds and hot rods.  He took pride in his work and didn’t settle for anything less than perfect.  He was creative, an artist, a toy maker, a ballet shoe sewer, a fixer of everything, a mechanic, a listener, a teacher, a fisherman, a hunter, a protector, a provider, and a neighborhood watchman.  He was tender hearted and he loved deeply.  Everyone who knew him was taught a specific lesson about life and about themselves.  We are so blessed to know him; we are all better because of him.  Our cherished guardian angel is now watching over us.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” Open House on August 20, 2017 at his home, 763 West 1950 North, West Bountiful from 7:00pm-9:00pm.  In honor of his birthday, we will have a lighting ceremony at dusk.  Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.

If you have a story you would like to share please send via email to blissyogautah@gmail.com  or bring to the celebration.  He touched so many lives and took pride in helping and serving others.  Our family would like to express thanks for all the love, kindness, and support we have felt at this time.
