Brent Leon Haney, 72, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at his home.
He was born May 3, 1941 in Ogden, Utah to Edgbert B. and Carmen Dean Mecham Doney Haney. He was raised in Adrian, Oregon where he developed his strong work ethic working on the family farm. He also learned to garden and always grew a large garden, sharing his crops with everyone.
He graduated from Adrian High School where he played football.
On January 12, 1961, Brent married Edna Mae Shy in Lovelock, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They had four children and raised their family in Harrisville, Utah until 1975 when they moved into the home Brent built for his family in Riverdale, Utah.
Brent worked as a carpenter and as a construction foreman. He later became the successful business owner of Haney Construction. He always taught his employees that "if a job is worth doing, then it''s worth doing right". He enjoyed woodworking and used his skills to create wooden toys and projects for his family and friends.
He later worked for and retired from the Weber School District.
Brent was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a faithful home teacher. He and Edna served a mission in the Ogden area.
