Bret Cameron Pearce, a beloved husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 3, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah from a sudden pulmonary embolism. He was born September 30, 1965 in Salt Lake City to Jerry Lynn and ReNae Wanlass Pearce. A graduate of high school, Bret's education laid a foundation but it was his experiences in life that truly shaped him.
He was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Marianne Van Wagoner on September 25, 1987 in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple. He served as a missionary in Louisville, Kentucky. He has a special love and ability working with the youth and children. He loved working with the young men and the scouting program, serving in the Elders Quorum, YSA Branch Presidency, and loved serving together with his wife in Primary.
Bret was self-employed as a general contractor, a career that allowed him to showcase his skills and work closely with clients who appreciated his craftsmanship. He took great pride in every project, always aiming for excellence while forging lasting relationships in the process.
He had various hobbies and interests that brought him joy, particularly fishing, camping, and sports. Cooking was another passion that he cherished, but nothing filled his heart quite like the time spent with his family. His love for the outdoors provided opportunities for countless family outings, all filled with laughter and bonding.
Bret is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Mari, and their children: daughters Melissa Pearce and Cassie (Dustin) Buck, and son Jackson (Mackenzie) Pearce. He was a proud grandfather to Aisley Pearce, Holland Pearce, Evie Buck, and Brixton Buck.
